精密铸造的发展历程
精密铸造又叫失蜡铸造,它的产品精密、复杂、接近于零件最后形状，可不加工或很少加工就直接使用，故熔模铸造是一种近净形成形的先进工艺。
Precision casting is also called wax-loss casting. Its products are precise, complex and close to the final shape of parts. They can be directly used without processing or little processing. Therefore, investment casting is an advanced near net shape forming process.
我国古代：王子午鼎、铜禁、铜狮等等，都是熔模铸造的杰作。自20世纪40年代熔模铸造用于工业生产后，半个世纪中一直以较快的速度发展着。特别是欧美国家发展迅速。熔模铸造用于航空、兵器部门外，几乎应用于所有工业部门，特别是电子、石油、化工、能源、交通运输、轻工、纺织、制药、医疗器械、泵和阀等部门。近几年我国发展也迅速。

熔模技术发展使熔模铸造不仅能生产小型铸件，而且能生产较大的铸件，最大的熔模铸件的轮廓尺寸已近2m，而最小壁厚却不到2mm．同时熔模铸件也更趋精密，除线形公差外，零件也能达到较高的几何公差．熔模铸件的表面粗糙度也越来越小，可达到Ra0.4μm。
